A letter from Kim Walker, 21st Century Community Learning Center Coordinator
Dear Nunaka Valley Elementary Parent or Guardians,
Our first week of after-school program went well. It’s lovely to see many returning faces to our program over the years. We are looking forward to getting to know those of you who are new over the next several months! Please always call if any questions come up throughout the school year. There are many exciting field trips, presenters, and activities planned for the year. Monday, September 18 the students will go on a field trip to the Botanical Garden then over the next two weeks the 5th graders will help build raised beds to plant tulips and vegetables. October will be the start of our indoor garden. Alaska Public Lands, Bird TLC, Peak Dentistry will all be presenting throughout the year as well. October 19 will be the first family night of the year, Lights On! If you have any interested in helping our, please send me an email. We’d love to have your help!
Our program runs the following dates this year: Monday thru Thursday September 11– Dec 14, 2017 and Jan 16 – April 25, 2018.
There is no program during the week of October 23-27 (Parent teacher conferences), February 19-23 (Parent teacher conferences), and March 12-16 (Spring Break).
