Dear Chugiak/Eagle River Families, Employees, and Community Members,
On behalf of School Board Member Elisa Snelling, Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee for Chugiak/Eagle River, the Anchorage School District looks forward to meeting with the community to share information and receive input regarding next school year and the education of your students. These meetings will focus on short-term solutions for the education of students displaced due to building closures.
Long-term planning for the future of Gruening Middle and Eagle River Elementary schools will not be discussed during these meetings. The District continues to gather information about buildings impacted by the earthquake. There will be an opportunity to address long-term planning by the community in March.
During these meetings to discuss short-term solutions, the School Board and District Administration will provide information to ensure the public is aware of educational program options and to seek input to enhance the educational experience for students of the Chugiak/Eagle River area. We want to know your thoughts and concerns. A survey will be sent to all Chugiak/Eagle River area school families regardless of whether or not you are able to attend a meeting.
