    From the Principal

    Dear Trailside Families,

     

    This year has started off so great! Students are excited to be at school and they seem to be enjoying every minute. Thank you for entrusting your children with us each day. There are quite a few things that are happening in the month of September.

    If you haven’t signed up yet, join Trailside for our 10th annual Hit the Trails event. This is such a great event and brings the community together for a fun outdoor activity. You can sign up for the event at www.runsignup.org. I hope to see you there!

    On September 8th we will have our Open House. More information will come on this, but mark your calendars for the 8th starting at 6:00.

    We will be finishing up our Benchmark Assessments. These assessments help us to determine where a student is academically in math and reading. The assessment helps to create small group instruction at their level each day and provides us with a way to create goals for students. I would compare Benchmark Assessments with checking the oil in your car. We do benchmarks three times a year to see what the progress of our teaching is and each student's learning. This is an important part of what drives our teaching and your child’s learning. More details will come from your teachers regarding these assessments.

    A PTA meeting will be held at Trailside in the library on September 13th at 3:45 pm.

    September 23rd is Fall Pictures.

    We are still working with transportation and the cohort of busses is still happening.

    Cohort 1, Bus 25, will run until September 9th, then it won’t run for 6 weeks.

    Cohort 2, Bus 63 & 70 will run from September 12-September 30 then it won’t run for 6 weeks.
