From the Principal
November 1, 2022
Dear Trailside Families;
If you have been into the office lately, you will notice that Trish has moved to a new position within the school, and we hired Erika Maynard as the new Administrative Assistant. Please welcome Erika to the Trailside team. She is doing great. Trish is moving into the preschool teacher assistant position just down the hall.
November is a time to give thanks for all that we have within our lives. It is important to take a minute and count the positive aspects of our lives. Our SEL focus for the month of November is Kindness. Take the challenge and come up with different random acts of kindness that you can perform this month. It could be a kind message to someone or give a compliment to someone. Spread kindness around the Anchorage community. It feels great!
November 8th is election day, and the district has scheduled an asynchronous learning day for students. This means they are not in the building. Students will be sent home packets to complete when they are at home on the 8th.
On the 11th there is no school for students either. This is a professional development day for teachers and no work will be sent home for students. Unless they have work that was not completed and is homework.
November 24 and 25 is the Thanksgiving Holiday, so there is no school for Trailside staff and students.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the front office or myself. We are here to help.
Sincerely,
Heather Jones, Principal

Nurse Donna's News
As it gets colder, make sure your child has warm clothing for outside recess, and write your name on EVERYTHING! If you need assistance with getting winter gear or boots for your child(ren) - please contact the nurse's office.When you check your Friday folder - also check your kiddo for lice! If you find them - treat them and let the parents of your child's close friends know also. Lice are not considered a health hazard and have nothing to do with cleanliness, but they do circulate around in group settings and can be quite annoying to get rid of. Please treat your child immediately if you find them - your child's teacher thanks you for being proactive with this. 🙂Nurse Donna's Spare Cloths Closet needs donations

Art News
Hello from the art room! We have been busy this month creating Art to Remember projects. They turned out great! Stay tuned for the final results. Our next art lessons session will be all about the changing of seasons and creating some fun fall art. We will also be learning about the seven different elements of art; line, shape, space, color, texture, form, and value. They are the building blocks used to create a work of art. The first element we will be working with is a line!
