Open-Optional

The Bowman Open Optional Program (BOOP) serves students in teacher teams of different grade levels. Embedded across the program are opportunities for students to collaborate in learning with children of multiple ages. These activities include STEAM projects, mentoring, book buddies, living museum, markets, performances, plays, and speeches.  Teachers believe academics, social skills, and respect are essential.  Real-world opportunities should be integrated into the classroom to make learning engaging and meaningful.  The program values communication, creativity, flexibility, cooperation, small & large group participation, community service, goal-setting, leadership, and family involvement.
