The Mission of Nicholas J Begich Middle School

The mission of Nicholas J Begich Middle School, through a partnership of students, families, staff and community, is to ensure that every student has the skills to build a strong social and academic foundation.  Our mission is accomplished by providing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum that meets individual needs and is delivered in a safe environment by a dedicated, nurturing staff.  Our educational setting provides strong supports for young adults in the area of Social Emotional Learning, including behavioral skill development, so students feel safe at our school.

Parents and community members are always welcome at our school.  To visit a classroom please call at least 24 hours in advance to make arrangements.  Tours can also be arranged through our front office.  Parent involvement is critical to the success of our students and we appreciate our partnership with you.

Several reports and data that assess our school's performance, goals, student issues, community input and more can be found on the Performance Assessments and Surveys page on the Main ASD website.

Students who do not reside within the Begich boundary and those who do not currently attend the school need to apply through the school lottery or zone exemption system.  More information can be found on the ASD website - parent page.
