Parent News 5/16

Dear Dimond Families,

Congratulations to the Class of 2019!  Yesterday's graduation was absolutely outstanding.  The speeches and songs were befitting of a perfect send off and celebration of our seniors.  We appreciate all that joined in the celebration.

The days remaining are few.  Students are encouraged to finish strong by completing final assignments and studying for finals.  Be mindful finals will not be given early, please plan accordingly for the last three days of school.

To All parents: It’s that time of year again when we are collecting outstanding Fines and Fees.  If your Senior or student has not returned old books, now is the time to do so!  Textbooks should be returned to the Fines and Fees office NOT the teacher so we can ensure fines are removed before books return to the classroom.  We will continue to collect class fees and old fines until the last day of student attendance. If your student has already turned in books to teachers, encourage students to make contact with the Fines and Fees office that records are corrected.   office and confirm outstanding under their name.

Locker Clean out Dates and Information:  ALL remaining students Locker Cleanout Day is Monday 5/20 and again No backpacks will be allowed, only plastic grocery bags, any other bags will be collected and stored until the end of their school day.

Help Dimond Library Collect Outstanding Books! Help Dimond Library Collect Outstanding Books! All Students’ library books are now overdue. 275 students still have 398 items at a replacement cost of $6,543. Every year, Dimond Library loses between $1,500 & $3,000 in lost/unreturned books. We appreciate all the help families can give to locate and return books. We always allow students to keep books they are still using as long as possible; they just need to talk to Ms. Metcalfe. We NEVER charge fines for overdue items and offer several options to take care of lost books:

Return the book = NO fine; Replace with a used or new copy = NO fine; Work in the library = NO fine (See     Ms. Metcalfe for details.); Pay for the lost book(s) = $ Cost to Replace Book(s)
