Greetings Dimond Families:

UNCLAIMED LOCKER CONTENTS

If you have not claimed your locker contents during the previously offered spring distribution and would still like your belongings, please contact Lisa Horstmann at 742-7009.  All unclaimed clothing items will be donated by August 14.  

REGISTRATION

We still are short 700+ students that have not registered. Returning students who attended Dimond or Mears last year must register online through ParentConnection for the 2020-2021 school year. Online Registration will be open through August 21, although registering your student before August 14 is appreciated. Please use this link or visit ASDK12.org Q/Zangle ParentConnection

There will not be a face-to face registration this year. If you have moved and will be attending a different school, please register online and notify the new school. You will need to provide proof of residency to your new school. Families interested in applying for Free and Reduced Lunch will be able to do so in August.

Please visit ASD’s website for information regarding the three options for learning this school year: ASD in School: Traditional/Blended School, ASD at Home: Virtual Program, ASD Homeschool. If you are interested in the Virtual Program, please access the link asdk12.org/Page/15639 to sign up. Additionally, if you are interested in ASD Homeschool, please contact Paidea, Frontier Charter, or Family Partnership. All returning students must register online regardless of the option the family selects.

Many of you may be contemplating what is best for your student for the start of school. Please know that we will help you with navigating through whichever option your family decides. Currently, the district and high schools are working on finalizing some key elements for instruction face-to-face and online courses and the Virtual Program. Watch for more information to come.

Soon, we will be offering access to the school on an appointment only basis for registration of new to the district and to the school or other school-related reasons. Counselors will be available for scheduling early August.

YEARBOOKS

A new opportunity to obtain a 19/20 yearbook has been added for online purchase, now through August 7th. Please access the following link http://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A09530030

Yearbooks are $85.

The next distribution for yearbooks will be Monday, August 10th, from 8:00am until 2:00pm here at DHS. PLEASE BRING RECEIPT FOR PROOF OF PAYMENT. 

This additional day has been added for any new purchases or unclaimed books.

SPORTS SIGN UPS

The start of fall sports practices, which were scheduled to begin July 29th, are postponed until at least August 5th. Although the start of fall sports has been delayed, in the event we are able to start, students will need to sign-up by visiting www.planeths.com.  Please be sure to sign the COVID liability form on the website.  If you previously signed up on Arbiter, please return to the website and sign the COVID liability form.  ASD is asking that you not pay for the activity until further notice.  You will be informed when to submit payment.  Due to the rapidly changing procedures, no face to face appointments or the previously advertised golden tickets will be taking place.  If you have questions, please contact our Activities Clerk, Jasmynn Whilden at whilden_jasmynn@asdk12.org or call her at 742-7005.

Please see attached form for information on school pictures. Pictures will be scheduled on a date in which we can be in the building.

DHS SCHOOL GROUNDS

Thank you for using the grounds for recreation. Please help us keep our campus clean by disposing of your trash in the garbage cans provided. In addition, we ask that you report any suspicious activity such as vandalism to the APD 311 line.
