DHS News Blast 11/17/2020
Dear Dimond Families-
“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. The light is not a particular thing. The light is just something good – the potential for something good.”----Desmond Tutu
I hope that families are staying safe and doing well. With the governor’s announcement last week and the municipality’s new emergency orders, the clerical and administration staff here at DHS will be teleworking on a rotating schedule. Phone number extensions are forwarded and messages are being checked. If you are able to send an email with the specific need or information, we would greatly appreciate it. If you need to contact the attendance office you still may do so. Also, you may excuse absences through the Q system.
We are in the middle of the quarter and students must continue to attend ZOOM, be engaged and complete assignments. We are almost to Thanksgiving break and soon we will get an extended break for the holidays. Please encourage your student to continue to be engaged and finish strong this quarter.
We realize that some of you may be experiencing some challenges with remote learning or other barriers. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or need support for your student. Teachers, counselors, clerical and administrators are here to assist you.
CROSS COUNTRY SKI:
XC Ski starts Nov. 30th, please have your student sign up ASAP. Inter School competitions will start in January. You must be signed up on planeths.com before you can practice.
All training will be outdoors so they should dress for the weather when at practice. No locker rooms, ski room, weight room or indoor facility will be available to the students.
Masks or face coverings must be worn at all times during practice and competitions so please come prepared.
Please call the Activities office at 742-7005 to leave a message or contact Jasmynn at whilden_jasmynn@asdk12.org if you have any questions.

“Waiting is the hardest part of hope.” ----Lewis B. Smedes
When hope is missing, life can seem drained of all its color and vibrancy. But you can combat this feeling and find your hope once more by recognizing the little things and brief moments of calm in your life. Seeing the positive things that already exist in your life makes it easier to trust in the potential for even better things ahead.
----A passage from “7 Reasons Why Finding Hope For the Future is Important."
We appreciate the partnership we with have with families for the success of our students.
Stay Safe and Be Well!
