Parent News 8/31

DHS Tuesday News Blast 8/31/21

Dear Dimond Families:

We are looking forward to the Open House on Thursday, September 2 from 5:30 pm-7:00 pm.  We will not have a formal program, so please proceed to your students' classes.  In addition, there will not be a bell schedule.  Feel free to visit teachers in any order.  If you can, please look up your students' schedules for a guide in navigating the school.  In the event, you need a schedule we will provide one.  Maps will be provided as well.  Note that this is an opportunity to visit the school and meet teachers.  Teachers should have any necessary handouts for you to take.  Unfortunately, the time doesn't allow for conference-like conversations.  Parents should reach out to the counselor or teachers with any concerns or request a conference to address concerns.  See you on Thursday!

If your student has been in quarantine, please make sure to provide proof of a negative COVID test to the nurse. We will be working diligently to notify families of positive cases within students’ classrooms. It is important to be aware that fully vaccinated students will not need to quarantine unless showing signs of symptoms. If you receive a notification letter and have questions, please contact the administration or the nurse.

School pictures are today for freshman, tomorrow, 9/1 for sophomores and Thursday, 9/2 for juniors and seniors.  Please use the attached link below for preview of photos and ordering.

Please cut and paste the below link into your browser if not accessible from this publication.

To purchase the permits, you can go to Parent Connect and purchase the parking permit, under "Parking Permit (Yearly) code Z8202150, or you can bring cash or a check to Holly Dodson in the front office.

When the form is complete and the payment has been received, either online or in person, permits will be available for pick up with Mrs. Dodson in the main office.

The fall senior meeting is this Friday, September 3 during 4th hour.  Seniors should check in with their 4th hour teacher and then make their way to the big gym.

Seniors have 2 big meetings--one in the fall and one in the spring.  At this meeting, we will take the senior picture for the yearbook, announce Homecoming Court, discuss Homecoming activities, vote for the senior shirt design, and vote for the senior class motto.  Jostens will also be there.
