Rilke Schule Verein (PTO)

  • Rilke Schule Verein (PTO)

The Rilke Schule Verein (RSV) is the parent, teacher, community organization (PTO) supporting Rilke Schule. Verein is the German word for association, club, union or society.

More information regarding the RSV can be found at https://www.rilkeschuleverein.com/

    Our Mission:

To engage in activities relating to the support of Rilke Schule German School of Arts & Sciences, the education of the children enrolled therein, the fostering of relationships between the school, parents, teachers and the community, and to serve its members and the public.

The Rilke Schule Verein has the following Goals:

Coordinate Volunteers: Volunteers provide many educational benefits and enrichment opportunities to the students of the school. Supporting the teachers and administration extends their ability to teach our children.

Raise Funds: Every school has needs that are not met by state, local and federal funding. This is especially true in charter schools where the school must pay for its own facilities. Supplemental fundraising can pay for equipment, supplies, faculty, training, professional development, enrichment programs, special events and more.

Provide Culturally Relevant Events Throughout the Year: The RSV orchestrates a number of culturally relevant events throughout the year. These events honor the German culture, promote school unity and pride and help develop our student’s into global minded individuals.

Please Join the Rilke Schule Verein:

Your participation at meetings and during events offers our group new perspectives and diversity while growing the school community, supporting students and fulfilling volunteer hours. Becoming an active member entitles you to elect the board members and influence the organization’s goals, priorities and direction annually.

    Volunteer at the Rilke Schule:

There are many opportunities to help both at school and at home. Weekly newsletters from the RSV will provide details on upcoming events and meetings in addition to a list of volunteer opportunities. Not a parent or relative of a Rilke Schule student? Not a problem. We are always interested in volunteers who can help out. There are lots of projects going on and we need all kinds of skills and resources. Please contact the RSV Board at rsvboard@rilkeschuleverein.org to express your interest.

    Communicate with your RSV:

    • Attending monthly meetings that are typically held the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm. Check the school calendar and newsletters for upcoming meeting announcements.
    • Volunteer to help with an upcoming event. We love to see new faces jump into making an event successful. This is a great way to support our school and meet one another.
    • Email your RSV Board members at rsvboard@rilkeschuleverein.org with ideas, opinions, questions or concerns. We are always open to hearing fresh suggestions on how to make Rilke Schule a better place for our students and families.
