  • Rilke Schule German School of Arts and Sciences is a K through 8th-grade charter school within the Anchorage School District, being the first immersion program to encompass elementary and middle school. Furthermore, all students attending Rilke Schule learn German, facilitating their immersion into the German culture and language.  We attract a diverse student population by offering a challenging, high-quality bilingual education supported by a unique after-school program with a variety of activities.

  • Charter Schools are public alternative schools that are held to the same standards as all other ASD schools, though they have more freedom with their choice of curriculum and may use methods of teaching that are not used in other schools. Charter schools in Alaska are regulated by the State Department of Education and Early Development. Click here to view the regulations.

Parents of children requesting entrance to Rilke Schule must complete the Anchorage School District lottery application.
