• ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

  • Arrival K-5 Students can arrive at school between 8:10 and 8:30 each morning.  Children may be dropped off at the curb outside the front door.

6-8 Students can arrive at school between 8:00 and 8:05 each morning.

In the morning, use the first driveway in front of the building on Artillery Road and drive through the parking lot to drop off your students at the front curb.  If you are the first vehicle, please pull forward to the first orange cone.  By using one driveway, the flow of traffic will be controlled and the safety of all students will be present.

    Dismissal:

At the end of the day, 6/7/8 students are dismissed at 2:45 pm and must be picked up no later than 2:55 pm. K-5 students are dismissed at 3:20 pm  and must be picked up no later than 3:40 pm. The pickup zone is in front of the school building.  Please do not line up in front of the school until after 3:15 p.m.  At registration or Back to School Night you should have received a goldenrod Student Dismissal Card.  Please put your student(s) first and last names and grade level(s) in bold marker on this card and put it in the passenger window during pickup.

At the end of the day, use the 2nd school entrance located behind the school on Mausel Street and drive around to the front of the building.  The students will be grouped by grade level.  When your vehicle pulls up and stops, the staff on duty will call out the name or names on the car window and the students will then be able to leave their group.  If you need to pick up another parent’s child, please have his/her Student Dismissal Card.  Once again, this ensures the safety of our students.

Once you have picked up your students, exit using Artillery Road.  Students not picked up by 3:40 p.m. will be taken into the building and parents and/or guardians will be called.

    Exiting the Vehicle:

The traffic pattern has been arranged so that students are exiting and entering the vehicle from the passenger side.  The driver should not exit the car in the morning “drop off” or the afternoon “pick up” zones.  Students must enter and exit from the passenger side of the vehicle.  If your children need your assistance to load/unload from the car, or you want to expedite the process, please park in the parking lot and walk the children to/from the building using the crosswalk.  Students must be escorted by an adult when crossing to/from the parking lot.
