On February 23rd, Romig Middle School reignited its STEM Career Day for the 6th time. After being paused for the last two years, our science department came back with a bang and expanded to a full day of sessions. This year featured over 50 presenters representing over 20 community businesses, organizations, non-profits, universities, and government agencies. Romig STEM Career Day has every Romig student, even those in our self-contained life skills classes, attend five different sessions of their choice put on by community professionals. These sessions connect students to STEM-related careers here in Alaska, both those with a more traditional college path and those that do not require a four-year college degree. Romig STEM Career Day aims to have at least one session for every student where they see themselves in that career right here at home in Alaska. It is also an excellent way for the public to get into our neighborhood schools to see all the fantastic things we see our students achieving every single day. Thank you to the wonderful experts from our community donating their time and knowledge to our students and thank you to our wonderful students for such a great day of learning about Alaska’s STEM careers!
