As we head into the influenza season with the novel coronavirus pandemic still present, it’s more important than ever for everyone to get a flu shot. First, although influenza disease burden varies yearly, evidence clearly shows that vaccination can reduce flu severity and prevent hospitalizations. Second, if you get sick and need to visit the doctor, your chances of being exposed to COVID-19 are increased. Finally, the response to illness in the school setting will be much different this year. ASD’s policy will be ‘Symptom Free to be At School’. Let’s work together and take (FLU) out of the equation during these challenging times. Please consider getting your family vaccinated! This link will take you to ASD’s Health Services site addressing illness in the school setting. Please take advantage of the FREE FLU SHOT clinics for your student and family members, so we may have a healthy, successful school year.
