Big Brothers Big Sisters Partnership
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska has been working with Hanshew since April 2015. When Hanshew began their partnership with BBBS, Hanshew agreed to have a clothing donation bin outside of the school. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska gives Hanshew 10 cents per pound of clothing that is donated at the donation bin. Hanshew has used the money to buy food for families in need of a meal for the holidays. Families can drop bags of clothing off to donate at the red clothing bin in front of Hanshew. To try to give back, Hanshew has hung a student created Big Brothers Big Sisters sign in the school’s foyer. Hanshew students also send holiday cards and thank you notes.

Second The IBEW 1547 has provided information on career options outside of the traditional college track.
