• How to interpret your UAA Placements for Writing & Math

    You must take both placements to be accepted into the AMCS program, but you are only required to place into college level math or writing.

    If you need high school math or writing, you will be required to take them with Alaska Middle College School, not your other school.

    110, 90 or lower

    High School Language Arts through AMCS to work on your Writing Skills

    0-29

    High School Math through AMCS to work on your Math skills.  Typically, Algebra II.

    30-54

    MATH A105- Intermediate Algebra

    55-77

    MATH A151- College Algebra For Calculus

    STAT A200- Elementary Statistics

    65-77

    MATH A152- Trigonometry

    78-100

    MATH A221 Applied Calculus or MATH 251 Calculus I
