• Anchorage P.A.I.D.E.I.A. Cooperative school is a statewide home school program offered through the Anchorage School District.   Our unique school combines the benefits of being part of a large school district while still being able to utilize the home-school philosophy of individualized learning.

We provide families with an opportunity to partner with certified teachers to develop a flexible and customized academic experience. These opportunities include combinations of the following: small group classes taught by certified teachers at PAIDEIA, enhanced virtual courses, vendor/tutor taught classes via Zoom or live instruction, neighborhood school classes, online asynchronous courses, UAA or APU coursework, or self/parent-directed courses. Options are customized to fit each student's needs.

Anchorage PAIDEIA opened its doors in 2015. Our school is part of the ASD and is housed in Central Middle School, located 1405 E St, Anchorage, AK, 99501.

  • P.A.I.D.E.I.A is an acronym for Passionately Accommodating Individual Desires, Enhancing Independent Achievement.

In the culture of ancient Greece, the term paideia referred to the rearing and education of the ideal member of the community. An ideal and successful member of the community would possess intellectual, moral and physical refinement. The approach combined education in all aspects of life.
