Northwood ABC Elementary became an ASD Green School in October 2018. Prior to the date, Northwood ABC Elementary did not have a student lead recycling program. WIth the ASD Green Schools initiative, the Northwood Wolves green team now collects, sorts, and discards the recycling in the recycling dumpster. The students provide constructive feedback to classrooms with contaminated recycling, generating recycling education throughout the school. In addition to recycling collection, the green team wants to raise more awareness towards waste reduction and recycling by starting a bulletin board with tips and recycling information. Great Job, Wolves!!

Sustainability Plan and Goals
The goals of the Northwood Wolves are to educate the staff and students about the items ASD considers recyclable at the classroom level. We also want to educate the school about the impact of using non-biodegradable items and their lifecycle. We plan on doing so by:
Provide more recycling alternatives
Adding other recyclable items such as plastic water bottles, glass bottles, and aluminum cans to our list of responsibilities.
