Rob Holland
Director of Maintenance and Operations Rob Holland, conducts a lot of his work behind the scenes – often unnoticed. Mr. Holland readily and efficiently assumed the leading role of preparing school buildings to receive staff and students – in addition to performing his primary duties ensuring District-wide cleanliness and sanitation.
Holland recognized the need to procure disinfectant during the District closure, while keeping costs down. However, he needed a different game plan after realizing most options were cost prohibitive and not sustainable in the long term.
With minimal guidance, he researched and recommended the District purchase machinery to make vast quantities of disinfect in-house, at a fraction of the cost of purchasing it elsewhere.
“Rob’s vision will literally save the District thousands of dollars over the next several years. His innovation and strategic thinking maximized the best outcome while effectively operating within a very limited budget,” said Senior Director of Maintenance and Operations Darin Hargraves.
Described by his peers as a consummate professional and role model, Mr. Holland has helped the District attain unprecedented cleanliness standards during his three years an employee.
“To his core, Rob subscribes to achieving excellence in everything he does,” said Chief Operating Tom Roth. “His attitude, attention to detail, and leadership permeate through his department.”
The Administration invites the Board to join in recognizing Rob Holland as a Denali Award winner for the example of excellence he sets for the entire Anchorage School District community.
