Katy Boneta

Katy Boneta is the longest-standing Vocational Coordinator at the Adult Community Transition (ACT) Program. She has coached students with disabilities to build work maturity skills and gain and keep jobs for more than two decades. Her nominator, ACT Principal Joy Bartko, shared that Katy is a visionary who can facilitate any dream or plan to become a reality. Katy takes on projects far beyond her job description and makes them fun and meaningful.

Not only does she teach students while on the job, she interviews students, teaches professionalism, ensures safety and compliance, supervises job site supervisors, hosts student events, facilitates students’ activity schedules and connections with outside agencies, and helps students secure paid summer internships, but she coaches students to walk away from the ACTprogram with a real-world job. She is truly that magical!
