Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)

  • The Anchorage School District Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) is a forum that exists to promote sound educational practices that support the needs of all learners through community education, advocacy, and advisement.

     

    A Community Supporting Educational Success for All Learners

    The council is made up of parents of students with special needs, educators, and community members. It serves as a forum where special education issues can be discussed. The council advocates for the needs of students receiving special education services. It advises the Anchorage School District on programs and policies pertaining to special education services.

     

    SEAC meets once a month during the school year over zoom.

    The Anchorage School District’s (ASD) Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) will serve as a resource and voice for our students with disabilities, families, and community.  We will strive to support equal and equitable access to the highest quality of educational practices to include academics, inclusion, transition services, behavioral or mental health services, and related services.
